What you should know when you get there…


VENUE/CHANGE ROOM ACCESS AND DAILY SHOW START TIMES:


Info will be available closer to the event start date.



PROGRAMS/STREAMING:

Event Programs:

  • Programs will be available for purchase onsite. The official event program will have the most up-to-date schedule along with adjudicator and awards info, which makes it the best reference for both performers and spectators.

Special Promotion:

  • The first several people to purchase a program will receive an exclusive surprise! Be sure to grab yours early!
  • Electronic programs will not be available.
  • All performances and awards ceremonies will be live streamed from the Be Dance website homepage.


PROPS:

We cannot guarantee that storage space will be provided for props. Please be prepared to load props in and out daily if needed. Backstage access will be provided 1 hour prior to show times for prop arrival.


MUSIC:

  • You can submit your music directly through your Computition account.
  • Team Captains only: Please sign-in to your Computition dashboard where you will see the option to Upload Music Files.
  • Accepted Music Formats:.wav, .mp3, .m4a, or .mp4
  • Non Compatible Media Formats:.mov and .qt (QuickTime music files)


BACKUP MUSIC:

  • We ask that all Team Captains have backup copies on hand at the event. Preferably a USB with all team music.
  • A USB, iPod, iPad, laptop or cellphone can be used for backup music ONLY.
  • Provide Adapters (if needed).


NOTE: 

Participants are responsible for playing backup music. We ask that a team rep is present at the music table to give any special cues. We cannot guarantee that a pitch control change can be precisely made. It is best to pre-pitch all music to avoid technical issues.


Parking: 

Onsite parking is FREE!

VENUE POLICIES:


New ​- Living Arts Centre Wristband Policy

This policy ensures that only authorized individuals can enter the restricted areas​ of the competition, to help reduce congestion and create a safer environment for all our dancers.

Key Details:

  • Each dancer is allowed to bring one guest​ (if required) to the change room area.
  • Dancers and their guests must check in with security at the entrance​ that leads dancers to the change rooms and backstage areas of the venue by providing their full names to receive a wristband.
  • Re-entry will only be permitted for those wearing a wristband.



Additional Notes:

  • Authorized guests with a wristband may bring minors in their care.
  • After the initial competition day check-in, dancers can be identified by their "stage-ready" attire (e.g., performance apparel, costumes, or uniforms).
  • Coaches and choreographers are able to obtain wristbands as long as they are accompanied by a participating dancer at time of check in.


Venue policies continued....

  • Bare feet are never permitted at any time in public areas.
  • Tap shoes should be worn on stage and in designated backstage areas only.
  • All dancing is restricted to the stage and rehearsal area only. Dancing is not permitted in the loading dock or in any hallways in the building.
  • Dancers must wear full-soled footwear in the Atrium and theatre auditorium.
  • Facility spaces are to be left clean following any event, by all users.
  • Rack & Roll bags and other large luggage/bags must be kept against the walls.
  • LAC is not responsible for any personal belongings
  • Loading Dock entrance at Living Arts Drive is for facility staff and authorized event use for loading and unloading only.
  • All rehearsal activity must be kept to the designated rehearsal area. This includes makeup application and removal, costume changing and warming up. The loading dock is not a rehearsal area.

ALL TEAM EXECUTIVES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

Classes with Adjudicators –
ALL VARSITY DANCERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.

Opening Ceremonies –
ALL VARSITY DANCERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.


"Clash of the Student Body" 
This is a ticketed dance-off event, and we must control the crowd for the safety and enjoyment of our dancers. Spectators who do not purchase tickets  risk the event selling out, and they will not be allowed in. Tickets are will be available for purchase onsite ONLY.
SPECTATORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to purchase tickets early, before this event sells out. We will NOT oversell the event.


Clash is FREE for Dancers: Dancers will receive special wristbands to be worn at all times on Saturday evening. Dancers will have a designated area in the audience during the clash.


More info pertaining to The Clash will be available closer to the event start date. Stay tuned....


Seating Protocols & Livestream
Throughout the competition, there will be VIP seating for dancers and regular seating/standing room for spectators. We encourage extended family and friends to take advantage of the livestream at bedance.ca to avoid the hassle of overcrowded areas. We are committed to keeping the venue comfortable and will not overcrowd.


T.F.E. is designed for the students, and your experience is our priority!
